Best Cafes in Nashville

I love a great cup of coffee. One of my favorite parts of getting to travel is experiencing all of the new food, and trying out every cafe and restaurant that sounds good to me. So when we decided to go to Nashville for Seth’s birthday, I got so excited. Nashville has become kind of a food mecca, and that’s the biggest reason I wanted to go; for the food. And the cafes. We tried a handful of different cafes, and I wanted to share my absolute favorite coffee spots in the city. Some of them are the obvious touristy spots, but some of them were less popular, but absolutely incredible, cafes in Nashville.

-Bongo Java.

You’ll find a few different Bongo Java locations all over Nashville. We went to the one in Belmont, and loved the college town feel. A lot of breakfast and brunch places we visited on our trip actually served Bongo Java roasted coffee. That’s how you know it’s good. This was the first place we ate at in Nashville, and it did not disappoint. We also had breakfast there too, but that’s an entirely separate blog post. So keep an eye out for that next week!

-Killebrew Coffee

This cafe, located in the Thompson Hotel, blew my mind. We tasted their iced lattes and a hot latte. Both were incredible. And the atmosphere was absolutely perfect. You walked into the cafe and it just felt like you were sitting in the ideal Instagram aesthetic. You’ve probably seen a few photos of theirs on my Instagram, because sitting in that cafe was a perfect experience. I love a cafe where you get to actually watch the baristas work, and Killebrew did not disappoint. Overall, this was one of my favorite cafes we visited.

-Well Coffee House

This one is a little bit outside the city, although still in Nashville. It sits right outside a  college campus, so it was filled with students studying. We felt a tiiiiny bit bad for bringing our tired baby in, haha. One of the things we especially loved about this cafe was the seasonal coffee flavors they had. Seth had their iced horchata coffee, and they had so many other seasonal flavors that sounded really intriguing. I had their regular latte because I’m a little bit of a coffee purist, I appreciate flavors but what I really love it just straight up coffee.

We ate brunch here one day; it will be included in my brunch post next week, but it deserved a mention here because the lattes were amazing! Seth had one of their specialty drinks(he’s a lot more adventerous than I am) that was simply divine. I bet you could guess, I just had a regular latte. Now that I’m thinking back, I probably should’ve tried more things than just lattes. What can I say, I know what I like! We also had one of their chocolate croissants, and it was so good! Almost as good as a pain au chocolat from Paris. Almost.

-CREMA

CREMA came highly recommended to us by practically everyone we met, so we had to stop there on our last day. It was a pretty busy place, but after tasting their lattes we could definitely see why. It was right outside of downtown; only a few minutes away from the best view of the skyline at the pedestrian bridge. Good coffee, great vibes, overall, a good spot. I can see why everyone recommends it.

-The Terminal Cafe

This is another spot that we went to with the intention of including it in our brunch blog post. But I HAVE to talk about it here, because it was the best latte we had in Nashville. Not that the other lattes weren’t incredible. But the next morning, Seth asked me if we could go back to the Terminal Cafe for breakfast because he’d been practically dreaming about the lattes since the day before. So good. The Terminal Cafe is kind of a hidden gem in East Nashville, but it honestly feels like family eating there.

There’s no way we could’ve made it to every single cafe that we wanted to while we were in Nashville. We were only there for five days, and we can only handle so much caffeine at a time. If we’d had more time, you can bet anything that this list would be a looooot longer.

For anyone else that’s been to Nashville, did we miss your favorite? Let me know if there’s a cafe we missed that we need to make sure we visit next time we’re there!
