Best Food in Nashville

This is the last post in the food series from our trip to Nashville, I promise! There were just way too many amazing places to eat at to confine them into one blog post. If you missed them, here’s the blog post on the best brunch spots, and another one on the very best cafes! This post is basically everything else. Ice cream, tacos, donuts, and every other yummy thing we ate in Nashville that you’ll need to try if you ever find yourself in Tennessee.

-The Soda Parlor

This was one of the reasons we planned our trip to Nashville, in the first place. Seth has been a huge Olan Rogers fan for years and years, and so for his birthday, we headed to the Soda Parlor. It was incredible! We tried a few different floats and one of their “Waffle Mondaes”. One really unique thing about this place is just the entire vibe. There are free arcade games on the main level, and then there are board games and a vintage(?) game system upstairs. We spent an entire afternoon here and had so much fun.

All of the reviews I read of this place told me that this was the best Mexican food in Nashville. Growing up in New Mexico, I was a little bit skeptical. My expectations were blown away when we ate here. The food was incredible, probably some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, if not the very best. We even let Bastian try the guacamole, and it had his stamp of approval. 10/10.

You’ve probably heard of the croissant donut before. Don’t even bother eating a croissant donut from anywhere besides Five Daughters Bakery, because it just won’t be half as good. Their donuts have 144 flaky, buttery layers and when I took the first bite I’m pretty sure that I died and went straight to heaven. They have a few different locations throughout Nashville, so you have no excuse to not go buy half a dozen donuts and indulge immediately.

-Jeni’s Splendid Icecream

Jeni’s was so good! My family has an(unhealthy) obsession with ice cream, so I was so excited to try this place. I loved the unique flavors, because you can get chocolate and vanilla absolutely anywhere. Seth got the Cream Puff, and I got the Goat Cheese with cherries. Both were absolutely divine.

This restaurant was inside the Gaylord Opryland resort, but it’s worth a visit even if you’re not staying there. The entire hotel is worth a visit, but we’ll get to that in my next post! We had the most fabulous server, honestly. She was so attentive and chatted with us about our trip and our blogging experience. I know I keep saying that the food everywhere we ate was incredible, but I’m being super honest when I say the food was amazing! And the entire restaurant is surrounded by waterfalls, which is a reason by itself to go.

We ate a handful of places while we were in Nashville, and we didn’t include every single place. I wanted to make sure I was only recommending the very best places and very best food in Nashville. Let me know if there’s anything we missed that we need to go to next time we visit!
