Q&A/FAQ

I feel like there are a few things that I get asked pretty consistently on my Instagram. I try pretty hard to make sure that I respond to everyone and be involved. And I love getting to share my tips and tricks, as well as my experiences. Because there are a few different questions I get asked pretty frequently, I decided to ask on my Instagram story what some of your questions were. And I’m going to answer them here!

Do you think it’s safe to feed your baby regular food?  I get asked this one allll the time. Obviously, yes I think it’s safe. Otherwise I wouldn’t do it. We researched Baby Led Weaning a lot before getting our pediatricians approval to start doing it. I wrote an entire post on baby led weaning a few weeks ago.

How often do you go to Pure Barre? I’ll be talking about this a lot more in my 6 month postpartum update at the end of the month. But I’m actually not going to Pure Barre at the moment. I love the classes and they’ve been the most effective way for me to exercise weekly. But our gym/date-night babysitter quit and it’s just been too hard to find the time to go on a consistent basis, which is so sad.

How does religion fit in your family? What do you believe is the role of religion in child rearing and marriage? Seth and I were both raised believing in God, and we both still do believe in God. We think that one of the reasons we feel we’re good people is because we were taught these morals through church. I want to raise our children to see that we believe in God and teach them what we believe. Right now, I’m not entirely sure what that will look like. I think it has a lot less to do with religion and a lot more with being a good person, teaching morals, and believing in God.

How do you manage to travel with a little baby? It’s not always easy. I think the biggest reason we’ve been successful traveling with him is that we took him on a plane for the first time when he was less than three months old. He’s used to it now, and even though he’s not perfect, he does pretty well when we travel and take him out to eat and things like that.

Is Bastian short for Sebastian? No. I actually really don’t like the name Sebastian. Bastian is a French name we loved, and I also loved that it was unique.

How long have you been blogging? I started this blog in March of this year. I did have a few different blogs before this one, but I don’t use the other ones anymore. But I started instablogging almost two years ago.

How do you edit your photos for Instagram? I feel like there’s a lot more to this than I can quickly answer, haha. I’m not always 100% happy with how I edit my photos, but I think I’ve finally found a consistent way to edit my feed that I really like. If I get enough interest maybe I’ll share some before and afters with my tips(so let me know if this something anyone is interested in?). Basically I try to bring out some of the richer tones in my photos without making them hella vibrant.

What does your typical day look like? Honestly, not that glamorous. Most days it’s just Bastian and I at home. We watch Netflix in French and play with toys, and eat. Whenever he naps I work, whether that’s blogging, cleaning, writing for my full time job, or other various blogging tasks. Mostly just baby cuddles and work. Pretty sure I never stop working, haha.
