4 Fall Cardigans You Need

It feels like fall lasted about ten seconds this year. Anyone else feel like this? A month ago it was in the 70s-80s on a daily basis, and now we’re in the 30s to 40s every day. I’ll probably have about another month where I am dressing for fall and avoiding the reality of winter. One of my favorite things about fall, is the fashion. I love the layers, I love the boots, I love the sweaters. And one of the best things about these layers, is that they make it easier to dress for the weather. Add an extra layer if it’s feeling cold, take a layer off if it warms up.

The ultimate fall layer: The Cardigan

Whom among us doesn’t have an entire section of their closet dedicated to cardigans? Cardigans are often known by a lot of different names. Sweaters, jackets, dusters, etc. There’s just something so comfy about a cardigan. And there are a few staple ones that your closet needs. Here are 4 fall cardigans you need!

Lightweight Cardigan

Let’s start with the most versatile layer. A good, lightweight cardigan. It’s perfect for the slightly warmer days, or for wearing underneath a thicker jacket. Here are a few of my favorites:

Chunky Knits

When I think of the ultimate cozy fall outfit, it includes a really chunky knit cardigan. Last winter, Seth would steal my favorite chunky cardigan almost every morning. In fact, I’m pretty sure it lives on his side of the closet now.

Dusters(or long-line Cardigans)

Figuring out the right way to wear a long line cardigan, or duster, can be difficult! I think the key to wearing a long line duster is to keep your outfit simple! My favorite way to pair it is with a pair of jeans, simple booties, and a lightweight sweater underneath.

Neutrals

My wardrobe consists of 90% neutrals, and I know I’m not alone here! Having one or two neutral cardigans means that you can add them to almost any outfit. This makes them so versatile, and such a good investment for your closet. (I just ordered this grey cardigan from Ardene and am SO excited to add it to my fall wardrobe.)
