Rosen’s Nursery

Because we were planning to move right after Rosen was born, we didn’t have a chance to get his nursery set up. It just didn’t make sense to set up an entire room that he wouldn’t even really be using, just to pack it up a few weeks later. AND since it’s not a room we use often, I didn’t feel a lot of pressure to get it set up in our new home! It was the last room for me to turn my attention to. And it’s still a work in progress! I want to add another plant(probably a Pothos!) as well as a few more prints.

The Essential Pieces in a Nursery

There are a few things that I feel like every nursery needs. You know, a crib, a rocking chair, etc. With Bastian, we had a hand me down crib that I didn’t love, and a rocking chair that ended up being not as comfortable as it looked. So a new rocking chair was HIGH on my list of essentials for Rosen’s nursery.

We got this grey rocker from Baby Relax and it has been my favorite. I love to just sit in this chair and nurse Rosen. He still isn’t sleeping in his nursery yet, but I’ve started putting him down for a few of his naps in here. And the rocking chair has been so comfortable that if I ever needed to fall asleep in it, I wouldn’t even mind.

Our crib is also from Baby Relax! We’ve loved it, and I feel like it perfectly fits into the vision I had for this nursery.

I love this little Snake plant we got a few weeks ago, and really can’t wait to add more plants in here!

The decor up on the walls is a bit minimal for now. We were having a hard time deciding on what else to add to the room, and decided to commission a few local artists to do some prints. Once we have those done, we’ll add those to the walls as well. I’ll definitely post a nursery update once Rosen is actually sleeping in the nursery more, as well.

One of the most helpful things we got when Rosen was born, was this MamaRoo from 4Moms. We move it around the house, so it doesn’t always live in the nursery. But it’s so helpful to have for when I need to get some work done, cook dinner, or just need my hands free!

We’ve also recently set up this play mat! Bastian has more fun with it than Rosen does, but it’s a great place to set him to play with his brother or do tummy time. This is another piece that moves around the house quite a bit.

One of my favorite things about the nursery? This window. It’s pretty dark with the shade shut, but has incredible light all day long and makes me love being in this room.

I’m so happy with how the nursery is coming along. Make sure to join my email list, if you haven’t already, so you can get an update on the nursery as soon as it’s updated.
